I sent my Vaquero to the Ruger Studio of Art and Decoration. As part of the engraving Heidi Roos signed and dated 2007 in front of the trigger guard. The Ruger Studio of Art, one Lacey Place returned my Vaquero 07/25/2997 according to the shipping tag and manifest. This may mean it was one of the last guns done before Ruger contracted with Baron's to assume their engraving. Really rare I think.

What say ye?

Now if I just figgure out how to post a photo..

For me alone MY GRAIL was a 10 in MK II From the time I saw one in a LGS I wanted one. Back then I was broke as heck and had other things on my mind. but that MK II kinda always stuck in the back of my head. A couple months back I finally stumbled on one.

The NIB Blued Boat-Paddle M77MkII in .257 Roberts I sold. I'm pining away for that one TOO!

To me the Holy Grails of Rugers are any of the Old Model Factory engraved single actions; 10" Flat Tops 357s and 44s; Super Single Six 4 5/8 " (197 made); Single Sixes w/ serial # below 2000; 7 1/2" Flat Top Blackhawk 44; Super Blackhawks 6 1/2" (600 made); Any of the Light Weights Single Sixes; Ross variety 357 Blackhawk. As you can tell I'm sort of partial to OMSA and I know there is a host of other Rugers out there both long and short that will qualify as Holy Grails.

My husband collects class 3 guns. His first machine gun ever purchased he bought a kac56, stainless folder with short barrel. Well, in his enthusiasm he didn't see how bad of shape the gun was internally. Including the receiver. Well, he sent it in for repair. Was called back and it sounded bad. It needed a new receiver. Which the manufacturer can replace the receiver. Anyways, that was 30 years ago, almost. When he opened the package ruger sent, new box, paperwork, new folding stock. A whole new gun. Gunsmith sent a letter, it said the gunsmiths had turned it into a special project. And just kept looking for the parts until they had a whole new gun. Including the atf paperwork regarding serial number change.
It's still new in the box.

I owned a Ruger Super Black Hawk Liberty addition in 44mag which Ruger had magna ported before it was sold. I do not know why maybe a test or for someone who changed their mind. Sold that gun in a fit of stupidity. Wish I had it back.

I'm sure you already know this, but for those out there that don't, this was an actual Ruger production gun with a model number: KGPF-341. Not many were made. I have one and got scammed trying to buy a second one (different story for a different day. Lesson learned.). I've only ever heard of a few others in passing. Finding another is one of my Grails. I also might like one of the 10/22 50th anniversary design contest winners as another Grail. Well, two actually; one for each of my boys.

I have other Grails too and I'm sure I'll run across another Ruger Grail sometime. Good luck to everyone in their hunt for what you're after.
The 50th anniversary 10/22 contest model I voted for online came in 10th place (out of 10). It was a a wood stock, blued 10/22 with gold plated accents (trigger, bbl band, etc.). GOLD = Golden Anniversary, right?

There is a gun shop in Otsego Michigan that has some Single Sixes that I would love shoot. They are old light weight flatgate .22s. Of all the Ruger stuff out there one of those would be at the top of my holy grail list I suppose. Yes there is a lot of rare Rugers but one of those would be my pick.
