" It's said to be nicer (DA) than a reworked early one. "

I would tend to agree if comparing out of the box models. I had a Python I had Walt Sherman tune and put in a roller action on the hammer dog or sear or strut (terminology differs across manufacturers). It would reliably fire magnum primers at 6 lb DA and had a less than 3 lb SA. Ayoob did a writeup in American Handgunner in the early 1990's on Sherman's guns. There were several other top tuners that could get low DA and SA pulls, also. It would be interesting to compare apples to apples and see what could be done tune wise to the new Python.

I purchased a 6 inch 45 colt anaconda in 1993 or so. It went up for sale with most of my firearms in the spring of 2009 to help pay for 2 daughters weddings. If I remember correctly I got about 1200 for it. i paid probably 450 or so for it. My anaconda was a very accurate 45 colt with 300 grain swcs. My anaconda loved 300 grain swcs at 1100 feet per second.
