I have an old 184 series mini 14 that I want to use for coyote hunting. I know that the older mini 14's are not as accurate but would it be worth putting a scope on it? I have no idea what to get for a scope or mounts.

I put a 4x12 Simmons on my stainless 182 series. If you're hunting and not putting a box of shells through it at one time you won't be bothered with barrel heating. I did add a strut and vented hand guard...so I can shoot, alot. I started with a side screw in scope mount, it rode really high. I've since ordered an S&K scope mount that replaces the rear sight.
What do u think of this scope?
