Yesterday I ordered my #1A in .270 Win.
I have been looking at getting a #1 for a while, it just took a while to work out which calibre I wanted.
Shame is I might not see it this side of Christmas, there is a three to four and maybe even five month wait for this particular gun.
I suppose that will give me the time to work out some optics for it and save for them.
I have already bought my reloading gear and am in the process of setting it up so I'll have plenty of time also to be ready to reload for .270.
Kool james welcome to number 1 club, the while the waiting is frustrating you'll be ever so happy by Christmas, that firm click as you lever block it up a sweet sound.
I just put mine in shop to get the Kepp set trigger sorted as NQR it'll be back soon and just like you got a lee reload kit for fathers day with lee collect dies in 223.
Did you consider the No1-B 270w in used guns it popped up last moth still there a 26inch barrel job.

An as new Leupold VX1 on top, the rifle is a pleasure to shoot and shoots well. This 26" brl model is no longer produced
The latest is delivery next February. Australia must be down on priority.
Bummer.
This is the scope I will pair with it, it can be mounted about 30% lower than a standard 50.
My #1 that was not to be here before next year turned up at the LGS today. And once again I am caught short because I have no paperwork ready for it.
My application has been in for a while and will still be a few weeks.
Glad I didn't leave the application any later.
Good news is the scope is in as well.
Saturday here (1945 hrs).
Paperwork turned up yesterday (earlier than I anticipated), picked the #1 up this morning. I can see why you #1 guys love this rifle..... it is grand.
Had the scope installed by the LGS and bought a nice case for it.
Gave it a quick clean (as best I could as I am away from home), will give it a good going over when I get home.
Going on the serial number this is a very, very new rifle.
Won't get to run it in for a week or so.
Photos to follow soon as I can.
Iam new here and got a 257 roberts and wondered who do you sent yours to for trigger work, can a gunsmith bed or do anything to help them shoot given they are a 2 peice stock, again forgive me for stupid questions, Iam new to the No 1's
I am in Australia.
I do not plan to change anything on mine, I expect it to be accurate out of the box.
This is my first #1, so it is a learning curve for me as well.
A gunsmith could do anything you want, but first I would check out all the good information here, could save you a lot of money.
James.
