Waveform

We have the same revolver; my barrel measures 3.75". Am I missing something? Did they change the barrel length somewhere along the way?

Hmmmm.......Maybe I'm missing something! I was going off of the published specs in my RENE guide which lists it at 3 5/8". Same guide lists the New Vaquero at 3 3/4". I took this at face value ("it's in print so it must be true") but didn't actually measure it myself. Now I will go get the gun out and measure it on my own.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just measured with my digital micrometer and ...... 3 3/4" (3.7580). Proves the old saying - you can't believe everything you read!
Thanks Rod!
Oh yeah! Really, really sweet. That's a real beauty, cuyler.
I was not aware that Ruger built a Single Six Convertible with Bird's Head grips. Can anyone supply some details? Year offered? By Whom? (Williams, Lipsy, Factory?) Quantity produced? Original OEM price?
I thought I had all the SA revolvers I wanted. I was wrong.
Edit: To add some information found on a search. This beautiful SS was offered in late 2011 by Williams as a TALO edition. The MSRP was $600.
Thank you Terry. That's very thoughtful of you and genuinely appreciated by all Ruger bird's head admirers and aficionados, I'm sure.
Come on now bird's head owners, now that terry_p has given us a sticky for our group, let's show our appreciation by filling it full of pictures of YOUR bird's head revolver.
Your welcome. Just posing the question, because with Ruger, anything out of the ordinary might be possible.
I LOVE that Single Six! Lust is a better word. Cuyler you will pleased to know that one just like yours (NIB, never fired, etc.) just sold at auction for $965. Yep. $965! PLUS shipping PLUS transfer fees = over $1K.
Thank you!
I purchased this back in March 2011 from ACRYLICNK on Rugerforum.com. The Catalog No. is GKNRBH-3F-I. Its a special Talo edition and supposedly only 450 were produced. BTW, shes still a virgin.
Thanks for the kind words.
Yep, I saw a couple these sell for $850+ on Gunbroker shortly after I got mine. Looking back, I probably should have bought a couple when I had the chance..........Oh well, at least I have the one.
