As I look at my collection of Ruger single action revolvers I realize there is a gaping hole where a Single Seven birdshead should be. I love my .45 Colt birdshead, but it's a heavy chunk of steel. That single Seven looks really nice!
Good luck in trying to figure out production schedules from Ruger. They don't typically give any clues. It's really in Lipsey's hands with their exclusives...how many they order and when they want any particular model available.
I ordered a Lipsey's exclusive Single Ten and it was a few days short of 1 year until I got it.
I got mine a month or so ago after checking with my FFL every so often for availability. I called Lipsey’s to see if there was a way to check on availability without bothering my FFL. The person who answered the phone, bless his heart, said give me your info and I’ll notify your FFL when they are available. Next I heard was a call from my FFL to tell me they had my gun in. Wish I knew who that guy at Lipsey’s was so I could thank him!
Got mine when they first came out and I really enjoy it. I have seen a few on Gunbroker lately and most are new. There are a few used guns out there but the demand still keeps the price up.
Like has been mentioned, if you check Gunbroker.com on a daily basis and see numerous ones available, there probably has been a release. Then you can contact your local dealer to order one. I own two Lipsey’s Single Seven models and that worked for me, to know which ones were currently available or not. Good luck, as they are great Revolvers!
I've had a Birdshead Single Seven for serval years and really love it. Here's mine with a set of Chigs grips, made from Maple Burl by Chad.
