KBN44, Is this a fair price?

I'm considering a partial trade for a Ruger 00459 KBN-44. Build year is 2000. Gun is reported to be in good condition. Bottom line, the cost is about $450 for the revolver without box and papers. Is this a good price? Seems a bit high, but the owner reports it is somewhat collectable. Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks!

Do you think the stag (synthetic) add to the value?

Grips are like shoes. If you like the grips and would have bought them, they add to the value.

I don't see anything wrong with that price.

Price seems right to me. Funny how sellers are quick to claim "collector value" even with no box, no papers, and missing original grip panels. Looks like a good shooter - buy it and have some fun.

I would take that deal if I wanted another ruger single action in that caliber.

What do you think the value would be if he had the box and papers. Maybe another 100 bux or so?

The gun is worth $450 with or without the box. It's a run of the mill Ruger BH. Yes, it's in decent shape and it has some good looking grips but it's a shooter not a collector piece so the box has no effect on the value. It's nice to have it but that's about it.

Box and papers would add nothing to the price for me, it’s a relatively new Blackhawk, not an old unaltered 3 screw. I do think $450 is a fair price however.

I don't know how collectible it is, but I'd pay that price for it.

I pick it up tomorrow. May put a SBH hammer on it at some point.

Good gun, nice and the price is reasonable. Have acquired some barely used blued ruger revolvers in $250-$350 range but not in last 10 yrs or so.

Quackaholic will become famous soon enough
SBH revolvers go fairly high here. $500-525. It just really depends on condition. I just traded for a new model I pick up tomorrow. It will be the 4th 44 ruger in my collection.
