Before ordering cowboy holsters....

Currently I have two original Vaqueros. One standard grip, and one Bisley grip. My question is in regards to holsters. From a cowboy perspective, until I can trade the standard for a Bisley, if I buy two holsters that will accept Original Vaquero Bisley, will my standard grip fit in there too? From what I'm finding, all frame work is the same just with a longer grip. They are both currently Original, and I want to trade a standard grip for a Bisley to have a matched set.

Thanks in advance.

My galco holster works just fine and i have a 7.5" bisley, 4 5/8 original vaquero, and a 45 blackhawk standard. It will even hold my single seven ok but not perfect. The length is the only thing that doesnt fit

Although "Cowboy" holster is a pretty loose definition, the holsters generally used for SASS and CAS events don't cover grips, so your answer is that the holster should be fine. Can't guarantee it since you don't specify the holster, but I'll bet your holster maker could.

As said, the holster, unless it covers the grips is made for the frame not the grips. My Galco SAO fits my SBH Bisley and my Flattop 50th. Only the barrel length is different.

Check out Old West Reproductions. Rick Bachman is a true craftsman. Be prepared to wait for your holsters to be made, but it will be well worth the wait.
