28 gauge fails to eject spent shells

My 28 gauge Red Label won't eject spent shells. I am shooting old Peters 6 shot, Hi Vel shells. I have cleaned and lubed the chambers and the ejectors. I have replaced the ejector springs. No help. I am stumped.

Have you tried other brands of shells? Do you reload your hulls? Sounds like something Ruger or a local gunsmith may have to address.

I donít have an answer, but CHAMBERS SHOULD NEVER BE LUBED!!! They should be bone dry!

Good question. Maybe the hulls are swollen.

Try some new (at least recent production), plastic hulled ammunition in a clean, dry chamber before deciding that it is a gun problem.
