My Red Label and Ruger Customer Service !

Back in June I picked up a nice Ruger Red label in 12 gauge to shoot sporting clays with. After around 50-60 rounds the bottom barrel would not fire all the time. Sometimes re-cocking the gun would help, sometimes not.
So I called Ruger and talked with them about it. Their first question was did the forearm have any play in it, or was it tight? It did have just a small amount of play in it, so Ruger said for me to send it in and they would see if they could fix it. The sent me a Return label to send the gun in on their dime.

This was close to July 4th and they told me to wait till the next week, as they would be off that week and that way the gun wouldn’t set in Fedex warehouse for a week. The gun arrived on July 11.

About one week after the received the gun they called me saying they thought it was fixed and wanted to know what kind of shells I was using as they want to put about 3 boxes through it to check it out.

Two weeks when by and I didn’t hear from Ruger, but on the 30th I got a email saying it was on it’s way back to me.
Here is what they did to it,

Replaced the Locking Bolt
Adjusted pretravel and Hooke
Soldered spacer
Refinished Barrels
Cleaned
And test fired

All this was done at No charge to me.

The next day I ran around 80 shells through it and it did Great, not one problem.
I can’t say enough about Ruger’s Customer Service, they are Great! Guess that’s why I have 4 Rugers…

Would you mind telling the forum what the first three of your serial# are? Rugerís site said they no longer provide service for 410 and earlier. I just purchased a used 410 and was bummed to see that after the fact.

My serial number started with 410.......When I had the problem, I saw that also, but figured I would call anyway. I explained the problem to them and they said they could issue a return tag and see if they could fix it. If they couldn't fix it, they would call and let me know.
I had nothing to loose..... I now have around 250-300 rounds through it and it's doing great.

Glad everything worked out for you, Ruger has the best customer service in the business in my opinion and the Red Label is a treasure to have. Share a pic if you get a chance.

Which service location

Thatís great to hear. Which service location did you use? Iíve sent mine in before for reblueing the barrels years ago and they buffed out my receiver as well back to the factory finish.

I need to send mine back for new springs and saw the note on discontinued service.

Thanks
CD
