My wife has a Remington 870 Tactical in 20 GA...with a factory extended mag tube.
It's got a tritium front sight, a youth butt-stock, a nylon sling, a side-saddle shell holder, etc.
I only paid $375 for it but it's her 'go-to' gun for around the house...
I know $375 is a might 'salty' for a cheap shotgun...but she loves it and is one of the smoothest shotgun users I know...if the wife likes it...I like it!

It is a tie between two I grew up with. A single shot 20 gauge Iver Johnson Champion, or a Sears bolt action tube fed .410. Both awesome guns, I wouldn't trade them for a Perazzi.

My model 500 Mossberg .410. I bought it for $125.00 when Walmart was getting out of the gun business.……...robin

My maverick 88. Picked it up for $120 used with the 28” barrel. Found an 18” barrel a week later on eBay for $70. Not the smoothest action but it feeds and goes bang every time

I just oiled up my Savage 30D. Vented rib on a 28 " Bbl. Pump action .
Looks like an economy version prototype.... 1st model 870.

It belonged to a hadware store owner in Punxsutawney. One of the older TopHatters (council member) of Groundhog Day in Penna.

I inherited a Stevens single shot .410 I really like. Didn't cost me a cent and I would guess it was less than $15.00 new in the 1920s.

My Iver Johnson single shot 20GA shotgun, that I paid $25.00 for brand spanking new in 1958 from money I made on my paper route, That shotgun still shoots and is in excellent condition. Might say that is my first firearm that started my vast collection. Incidentally I completely refurbished it as it has no collectors value. Most of the case hardened receiver, was gone, so I it done with a brushed nickel finish.

My father had an Ithaca 37 Deerslayer under his bed, alongside a very nicely sporterized Mauser 98.
Dad was proud to show me those guns, and tell me all about them. It was a special occasion when they came out for viewing between hunting trips.
I knew they were there and unlocked. It would have never occurred to me to violate the sanctity of their location... A space that wasn't mine. That's the respect we were raised to have back then.

Anyway, I found an old 12 gauge Featherlight at a show a few years ago, and paid fair value for it.
It's in used but cared for condition... Just right.

My cheapest and my favorite shotgun is my JC Higgins 20 gauge bolt action tube magazine. Bought it used and needed a bit of love and TLC. It shoots awesome and I take it deer hunting while my Remington 870 stays home. A beautiful old gun that shoots awesome.
