Ruger 44 RS Carbine

I recently purchased a 1966 Ruger 44RS Carbine with the factory receiver sight. The carbine came without the screw in aperture. I tried a few that I have around and it appears there is a difference in thread. The threads don't appear to be cross threaded or otherwise damaged. Does anyone know if Ruger used a different thread for their sights than what is standard for the other manufacturers. The next obivious question if if it is different where can I get one.
Thanks,
tj
