Mini 14 picatinny rail 196 series

Good Morning from NC!
I need advice on what make and model picatinny rail for my 196 series Mini 14.
The factory mounting points just don't cut it for my use.
I have seen many rails out there and just can't identify an exact fit for my model.
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!!

kwg020 will become famous soon enough
Does your rifle have the scallops at the top of the receiver ?? A picatinny rail will fit there and Ruger makes one for it. If you don't like that there are rails that fit from the gas block back to the receiver that will take a red dot or a long eye relief scope. Otherwise you have to put an adapter on the side of the receiver and mount a scope that way.

Astone, GG&G has an easy solution. Your 196 is a Ranch Rifle, with scope scallops. GG&G has several options for a P-Rail...
