I did a takedown of the PC to clean it before for its maiden
voyage on Sunday.
It was an easy procedure, but, when I took the receiver out of the stock the
pin that holds the slide stop in place fell out, the pin is a very loose fit.
Is that normal?

Indeed it is normal and it's easy to have the pin, the bolt release plate and its spring fall out if you aren't careful.

When you remove the trigger assembly be careful not to push on the bolt release. As long as its under spring tension everything stays in place.

PC Carbine: How worried should I be about losing zero?

I'm space constrained right now, so I keep my PC Carbine taken down. How concerned should I be about losing zero when taking down? I saw there's an adapter from Taccom to replace the rear sight, but they don't seem to be making it anymore.

Also, I have a Sig Sauer Romeo5 red dot on right now, but the high mount is too high, and the low mount doesn't let me co-witness the sights. If my sight fails, my current plan is to use the bottom curve of the red dot as the "V" with the front sights, but to aim for the belly or the crotch, because the height of the makeshift rear sight would bring my point of aim way up. Any better ideas on how to have backup sights?

I have half a mind to 3D print my own rear sight rail adapter.

(I can't post links yet, but you can find this at thefirearmblog under "Ruger PC Carbine Upgrades")

One last thing, how much should I worry about forgetting to have the bolt back when reassembling? Is that going to damage something vital if I should forget?

That Taccom rear sight replacement Picatinny rail is out of stock but I don't think it's been discontinued. Send them an e-mail and ask to be notified when it's back in stock.

You could make one from a section of plain Picatinny rail and drill it to take the factory rear sight base screws as that's what the Taccom rail uses. The Taccom rail is drilled to use the two widest spaced screws and they are #6-40.
