Sheepdog, I apologize for not getting back to you sooner (been a little sick for a while). The Henry is a nice rifle. The carbine is a little short for my frame, but it fits the wife really nice. As far as shooting...it is really nice and smooth. Definately is not a waste of money. You will enjoy it.

There are just a few around here. Early Flatgate Single Six, Old model Super Single Six Convertible, Old Model Single Six, Old Model Super Bearcat, Ruger Standard of 1955 vintage, MK II 22/45 and a couple of 10-22's, one from 1970(walnut) and one from about 1985.
Then a Glenfield and a Browning Buckmark and my very first gun, a J.C. Higgins single shot. Oh, and one more a Stevens Crackshot Model 72. oops forgot about the Mossy 22 auto
edit: How could I forget? Marlin Levermatic Model 56!

Several 10/22's from 1966- to present. Many wear vintage walnut stocks which I've painstakingly refinished. Some built for paper punchin' some closer to stock. They're all fun!
...and the "Family's" expecting another addition....MKIII Slabside!
I'll try to post a picture of the entire clan when the new addition arrives!

I have an old Iver Johnson .22 pump. That was my first gun given to me on my twelfth b-day. I also have a Ruger Mk II. That was my first handgun that I purchased at 14. I worked my butt off selling flowers for a local company that puts kids on the side of the road with buckets of flowers on mother's day, easter and a few other holidays. After all that work I was far short of the purchase price of a ruger. Only had enough to buy HR revolver. My parents felt bad for me and made up the difference so I could buy a ruger. Dad took me to the gunstore and waited with me for what must have been hours as I tried to make up my mind between the Mk II and the Single-Six. Lot of sentimental value to those two .22's. I can't wait to take my kids to the gunstore and do the same. Oldest doughter is getting close. Her twelfth is coming up, but whe wants a mountain bike. Oh well, it is her b-day, not mine.

cyrille is an unknown quantity at this point
I have a Remmington model 514 handles .22 short, long and long rifle a Ruger 10/22 and a Ruger "New Model" single six. I have a question; why are .22 shorts so hard to find and more expensive than .22 lrs?
When I was a kid all we could afford were .22 shorts the longs and long rifles were about $.60 to $.70 a box, but the shorts were $.45-50 a box. To the best of my knowledge there were no .22 magnums, although we did have .22 "shotshells"!
