Curious stamp on P85MK11

I came across a LNIB P85 MK11 that I had to have for pure nostalgia as that was the first semi-auto hand gun I ever owned. However it has this curious * marking near the muzzle. I first thought it a ding, but the more I look at it the more I feel it's intentional. Any thoughts? 20200303_160646.jpg

I have one of them - original owner and my first gun. It does not have that mark.

I'm betting it is just a ding.

Not a typical place to put a proof mark on or any other sort of stamp just for the sake of embellishment.

No marks on my P85 MKII and I've known it since new.

Not one on mine either

And I've owned since the MKII came out to remedy the problems the original P85 had
and its never hiccupped a single time in that time.
