Mk I, II & III Mag & Grip Interchangeability?

I have a Ruger Mk I bull barrel. made in 1978 according to my research...

I'm pretty sure the Mags are interchangable between the Mk II and Mk III, but I'm not sure about the Mk I.
Also, will custom grips for a Mk II or Mk III fit on a MK I?

The MKIII has a mag release button which means the grips need to have a notch for it if I remember correctly.

Look under your grip panels for a stamping "A100" if it's there (and it should be I think), then the MKII mags will fit. I have a 1980 MK I and MK II Mags work just fine. If I remember correctly even if the A100 marking is not present you can take the follower button out of the MKII mags and swap it around backward and it will work. I may be wrong on that as I've never owned one that old.

In regards to grip replacement, Yes, MKII and MKIII replacement grips will work fine, but you will have an extra notch in the top left grip panel for the bolt release lever that is not present on the MKI version.

PS, nice pistol.

Here's my MKI with a MKII Hogue wraparound installed:

Thanks for the insight.
I can see notch you are talking about on the left side, but you wouldn't notice it unless you're looking for it. Those grips looks great.

That's kinda the way I looked at it. It's not like it gets in the way or anything.
