GP100 #1740 5" in stock if you are looking. Davidsons has 16 in stock. I picked one up for $679.99 out of Texas, no tax, free shipping. With my FFL Transfer being $25.00 = $704.99 total. Best price I could find....

Not sure I can list dealer here but contact me and will give you info.

I really like my 6" GP. It is the most accurate handgun I own. But it is a little front heavy for my taste. My friend has a 4" GP and I think that is a little light out front. I would love to try out a 5", as I think it would have the best balance. I just cannot justify the $ right now. Maybe someday, I can dream.

I have owned GP100 revolvers in every barrel length that they have been made in and my 5 inch model is my favorite of all.

Hey notathome your not that far away, come on out to rural Va. I've got 2 pistol ranges and a 100 yard rifle range out in the back yard. We can both try the 5" GP100 out, tracking says Next Tuesday.

Actually all you guys are invited...hurry before our Idiot Governor proposes some more anti gun laws...

I hope you like it as much as I do mine I picked up 4 years ago for $730 from Davidsons. So I think you got a good deal. I handled a six inch GP100 and it felt a little muzzle heavy which my 1740 doesn't. It's got the smoothest trigger of any of my Rugers. Is yours a full lug like mine? Enjoy it and review it after a trip to the range. Oh, Until your 1740 arrives you can look at mine if you wish...

Thanks stonebuster, never owned a double action revolver before. Have a few 3 screw Ruger single actions.
I see you have a fiber optic sight out front, I might have to check those out. I keep reading of people that say Ruger may polish a little inside or something on the Davidson exclusives for a touch better trigger. Yes it has a full lug as yours.
Nice looking gun you have....thanks for sharing.
