I can give you one data point.

My 25 year old 6 inch GP100 barrel is installed square and perfectly centered, it goes bang every time, any brand of cartridges will fit the cylinder with room to spare, and the gun has never been shipped back.

But, mine is not a custom gun that Ruger spent extra time building

OP, I don't know if you know but if you call Ruger about the problem they will email you a shipping label and you will not have to pay postage for the return to them or the return to you.

Maybe it was bought online. If buying in a store at least you can check it out.

Hi Matt,
I'd surely have expected better for a Match Champion. Your post did make me go look at my GP-100 in .357 magnum, it seemed fine. Looking at your pics, That's a hard one to swallow as the whole frame would have to have been offset from the get go because all the rest of it seems to line up and work. Get some info for us, use a small machinists scale that goes down to 1/64ths and measure the distance from the flat top edge of the barrel to each side of the frame. I saw the pics, I'm curious about how far it's off center side to side.
Best,
Rob

The barrel has to be pretty much lined up with the cylinder, right? Some weird cosmetic issue. I think you asking some folk’s opinions is entirely acceptable, cause you don’t know what you don’t know. Good luck

I should of took some measurements before I sent it in today but it looked far enough off that I didn’t bother. Barrel lines up with the cylinder. It just looks like the frame just got cut off center where the barrel goes into the frame somehow. Anyways I will try to give everyone a update in a couple weeks when I hear back. I’m assuming they will have to replace it. I can say that they have good customer service and always take care of everything.

This thread is getting too warm. OP asked a legit question and for some reason it went off the rails. Thread closed.
