Question Redhawk .45 Colt Ammo Question

Will my 2005 era Redhawk .45 Colt revolver (Model 05050) handle +P Bear loads?

I have both HSM 325 grain solid lead bear loads and Buffalo Bore 300 grain mono-metal bear loads.

I do not reload anymore.

Am awaiting delivery of my "new to me" Redhawk so there has been no range trips yet.

Thanks in advance...

-Hoss

Without a doubt
The Redhawk is as tough a nails
The .45 is built on the same frame as the .44mag

Without a doubt it will handle heavier loads that s&w can't!

I've fired Buffalo Bore 325 gr +P's, which travel at 1325 fps.

No problems with pressure signs or extraction problems. I don't fire many of them, because they are unpleasant to shoot. As I get older I have less fondness for recoil.

Buffalo Bore says they are fine in the Redhawk, though I understand Ruger may not honor your warranty if they know you've been firing these. I don't know for sure that's true. It has just been said in various online forums.

Yes. My 45 colt redhawk takes anything. Grizzly is as good as buffalo bore but signifigantly less expensive.

Kudos to Ruger Customer Service!

I bought my Redhawk .45 used without a plastic case or user manual.

A simple online request for these items resulted in a quick reply from Ruger CS that they are sending me both at no charge!

Thanks Ruger!!!

I load my Redhawk 45 Colt to Hot 44mag Pressures in Starline Cases. The only thing that gets Damaged is the Web of my Right Hand. Enjoy your Redhawk.
