GP100 Front Latch & Ejector

Just posting as an fyi because I didn't find anything in my interweb searches. Probably not using the correct terms.

Brand new GP. LGS had it on display even....point being I got to look the entire thing over prior to purchase. Functioned great.

First range trip, after a couple cylinders down range, trigger pull feels heavier and cylinder won't close. Pics attached.

Front latch won't retract, without help, and ejector rubbing on the frame.

Already in-transit back to Ruger.

Something under the ejector ratchet, such as powder or machining?

Didn't appear to be. Took it all apart, cleaned, inspected, put back together, same problems. We'll see what Ruger says.

In the mail to Ruger on Thursday, 10/25. Received by Ruger 10/28. Returned to me today, 10/31. Pretty sick turnaround time right there. Front latch replaced and refinished the areas where it got marked up from the latch and ejector. Now functions 100%...dry fire anyway. Off to the range tomorrow.

Brand new GP. 2 cylinders down range, then off to Ruger to be fixed. Sounds like an all to familiar story these days. Sorry to hear it. Hope all goes well with the "fixed" new revolver.
