1986 5.5” Redhawk in 41 Mag

I was looking for a companion to my S&W Model 57, one in 41 didn’t seem enough.

I was thinking a 4.62” Blackhawk, but ended up with this off Gunbroker. I had wanted to go a bit shorter than the 5.5”, the Smith is at 6”.

I just did a batch of reloads today, plated 210 grain with 8.1 gn of Unique. These are just to test things out.

Anyway, no gun yet for awhile, here is a picture.

I used to have one just like that-I traded it to Buds Guns for a New Model Blackhawk .41 with the 4 5/8 barrel-there were not a real lot of those in blued and the 5.5 inch barrel.

I have the stainless version which has proven accurate and tough. It slid out of my holster when I forgot to secure the snap, bounced off a rock and now has a ding in the top strap.
Still shoots well.
Not the slickest action but not bad either.
I prefer the two spring system the GP-100 and Super Redhawk both use but the single spring for hammer and trigger in the Redhawk isn't too bad.

Very nice. I have a Redhawk 7.5 in 44 Mag, love it. You can’t go wrong with your choice.

Ihad a 5.5 inch 41 mag ruger redhawk in 41. I had to sell it and a lot of guns for 2 daughters weddings and I miss it. I used to do occasional 2 hand shooting with them.
