The Super GP100 comes home.

Yeah, the looks are polarizing, but I love this gun. I changed out the grips because the wood grips don't have any texture, but the wood grips are actually very comfortable.

Anyways, she's a smooth shooter with a nice trigger. Ruger did ship it out dry as bone, so the trigger didn't feel right at first. But a few drops of oil remedied that in short order.

Nice revolver! I was surprised to see that this revolver is almost 4 ounces heavier than my 5 inch bbl full lug GP100. I wonder where the extra weight comes from?

Bigger, heavier frame I expect. As I understand it this is pretty much a Super RedHawk frame with a GP-100 grip and the extra frame extension deleted. That's how they got 8 .38/.357 chambers in it.

I did a two part overview/review on YouTube in case anyone wants to see it.

Part 1 - Mostly blabbing. You guys probably know most of this.

Part 2 - Actual hands on and some boring shooting at the end.

Nice. I often wondered why it took ruger so long to respond to the smith 686 plus 7 shot.

When I first saw the marketing photos I was like, "meh," but after watching your videos it's starting to grow on me. Congrats on the new acquisition!

I am very interested in this. I know its a bit redundant for a game gun, but I would like to put it side by side with my Smith PC 627 170210.

I'm one of those people who is kind of slow in coming around with something new. Frankly, I was not impressed when it was first released, but it's kind of growing on me now.

Congratulations, Red9! Beautiful, functional artwork!

Just purchased, yesterday, 01/04/2020, a brace from GrabAGun. Expecting to receive them next Friday, 01/10/2020. Lots o' readin' an' coffee to drink, just waitin'. Funny, waitin' isn't any easier at 70, than it was when a youngster.

Please let me know all about your mainteance on that beauty, as well as what fodder she likes... My experiences with seven of the original GP100's had me using 158gr SJHP's and SJSPs... Sometimes, Buffalo Bore HC's, as well... Good for deer loads, the last... Bit stout, though... Maybe this new frame can handle it better...

Liked your videos. Are you on YouTube? If so, let me know, and I'll subscibe...

Later,

stoble will become famous soon enough
That is crazy the gun was shipped with no lub! Think of the percentage of people who would not open the gun up and just begin dry firing and shooting the gun while DRY! Ruger I do not understand. That is a corner that should not be cut. Why would this happen?

OP enjoy your new love affair. My 4 in. stainless GP100 is my honey and will never be sold to anyone alse.
