If I am going to buy one most likely its just going to be a safe queen. For practicality though I would rather invest on a SW TRR8/or Redhawk 8 shot 357 if Commifornia eventually bans all Semi autos. For now im enjoying what you guys and gals own.
I am sorry, I can't make out what is on the chart. <img src="https://rugerforum.net/images/smilies/frown.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Frown" class="inlineimg" />
Reloading prices/ammo prices?? Gun prices??

As far as the 8 shot 357 mag Redhawk goes, its a very nice piece.
Mine is quite accurate, has nice fit and finish, and just soaks up the recoil of hot 357 mag loads. Easy to shoot rapid fire and/or get fast, effective follow up shots.

I have #5059 357 mag, with a 4.2 inch barrel.
I bought it to match my #5027 45Colt, also with a 4.2 inch barrel.

I replaced the Hogue grips on the #5027 w/ wood, so now both the revolvers feel and handle the SAME. (Something that is very important to me, but probably a topic for another thread)

They even share the same leather. That, in itself, can mean BIG savings. Not so much when comparing nylon/plastic holsters, but VERY noticeable when you step up to a quality leather holster. Even more so, on the custom end.

As good as the #5059(357mag) is, I still prefer the #5027(45Colt).
45Colt can be dowloaded to near 38 spl levels or uploaded to near top end 44 mag levels, or loaded to any level in between.
IMHO, the 45Colt is just a more versatile caliber.

Good luck w/your choice.
2ndson, it's Calibers of handguns, its Price and it was ranked according to Muzzle energy. I was also intruiged by the 45Colt was watching vids of it in youtube last night and you are right it has a very broad spectrum in power.

Yep if ever I do get a big bore its definitely a Super Redhawk 44 magnum, i just wish they make em in a 4 inch full underlug barrel.

If I could only have one, I'd steal ArisinWind's 454!

As for the ones in my safe, I'd grab my 45 Redhawk, for it's ammo versatility.

Well at this point it would have to be my super redhawk .44mag. I just bought a super blackhawk with a 3.75'' barell. Too soon to tell as I haven't fired it yet but it may well move into the #1 slot.

After watching Hickok45 and Military Arms Channel with their 10mm GP 100, i am sold. If ever it gets to a point Semi auto's gets banned here in California. The Ruger Match Champion 10mm will be my next firearm. Reasons be 1. I am a fairly decent shot with my GP100 357 magnum, i want a carryover in skill 2. I like the Moonclips being able to reload quick 3. Being able to shoot 40sw that is cheaper than 38 specials at least here in San Jose
CA 4. 40sw More powerful than 38 special 5. I love Ruger and I love the GP100 platform.
***i do hope that they dont ban semi auto's though for i am loving my Glock 20sf***
As much As i love the looks and power of higher caliber revolvers i cannot afford to shoot em, the 357 magnum and 10mm are as high as i can go without scarificing my accuracy. Thanks for all the replies.

My only 2 firearms. No plans of purchasing more, unless semi autos gets banned here in California then I will get a Ruger GP100 10mm. Thanks again everyone.

My thoughts exactly!

My favorite Big Bore pistol is my Kimber 10mm Stainless Target.

My favorite Big Bore Revolver is my 4-5/8" Ruger Blackhawk convertible in 45Colt/45ACP.

I was at Basspro a few days ago to buy some ammo for my Glock but I ended up browsing the 44 mags, 454 and 460 of SW. I have very good self control as I really dont have the money to buy another firearm ever, lol. It helped that you guys reinforced the Beauty of the GP100, makes me feel complete, lol. But still curious which big bore revolvers you guys' and gals favorite. so
It's hard not to love a .44 mag. I have a Blackhawk and my new Redhawk.
I also have an old Blackhawk Convertible .45/.45 Auto.

I like to make big holes in things I shoot.
I'm getting long in the tooth, so I don't hunt out West anymore.
.44 mag or heavy loads in my .45 will do for anything I'm likely to run into in the South East. Big Hogs are always possible, and they Smoke up good.

As far as a revolver...GP 100
But that’s because my 10mm is a SR1911
