It just needed a great belt and holster to go with it.

I put a scope on my 6 inch version that I like a lot, but I say go for the 5 inch stainless version and just lower the trigger and hammer spring weight.

You could always put a red dot on the 4 inch version.

I got the Match Champion. I do love the thing, it is real smooth with 0 flaws. I kinda sorta think I should've got the standard GP in 4". The MC isn't really noticeably smoother that my 1988 redhawk. The couple ounces saved slabbing the sides of the barrel and trimming the under lug would be nice for muzzle jump. Also the $100 or so saved could go to a spring kit a rubber grip and hammer side shims. I could slick it up myself. I just couldn't see getting the nice wood grip scuffed carrying it around the hills, so I got the Hogue mono grip.

Mine is the Wiley Clapp 3" Barrel I think eventually there might be room for a 5" barrel model. It is a great gun to shoot. I got a Mernickle cross draw holster for it.

Along with it's little brothers

Awesome pics and I like how everyone has their own special preference in regard to barrel length, grips etc. It's going to take awhile to sort through all of the options but eventually, I'll put together a nice "package" for myself.
Thanks again everyone for all of your input. Sure seems like a fantastic forum. Plan to visit here often.
Have a great weekend everyone!

I have a 4" and a 6" 1/2 lug....having said that I wish I could combine those two and come up with a 1/2 lug 5". That would be my dream GP100.

I would really like to know how good the "trigger job" is on the Ruger GP100 Match Champion from the factory. I have seen vastly conflicting reports from various video reviews. Here in Calif we still have the "privilege" of having any new gun we buy spend ten days in an FFL hold after we do the DROS - even if we have numerous other handguns registered in our name and possess a valid CCW. Despite that fact that a Federal judge has ruled that this is unconstitutional our states attorney general has tied the ruling up in the appeals process. While my new 4.2" Stainless GP100 was resting in FFL Jail I had a chance to compare it to a new GP100 Match Champion side by side. Obviously I was not able to fire the weapons but I did get to dry fire them in both single and double action. Frankly I noticed very little difference.
