Nomadic Paladin will become famous soon enough
Start with a 10/22 takedown; add in a Magpul Backpacker. Not sure that makes it much lighter, but it does give you a place to store rotary mags when broken down

A normal 18.5 inch standard profile carbine barrel is around 29 oz. Replace with a lightweight aluminum bull barrel in the same length and it is around 19 oz. Go to a 16.5 inch and the weight savings is greater. A carbon fiber barrel will get you down even more. Seems that the only other way to save weight would be in the stock and scope (if used). A fixed power scope is usually lighter than a variable power.

See Whistlepig lightweight barrels at https://www.wpgbc.com/

Magpul Hunter X22 stock is a lighter stock option, has a barrel channel that is reversible for either standard profile or bull barrel, or remove the barrel channel entirely for most weight savings. See at https://www.brownells.com/rifle-part...prod79484.aspx Brownells has a sale today at 15% off and free shipping which brings it down to less than Midway's or amazon's price.

I agree with ealge0199, a whistle pig barrel, very light and accurate. I went with a boyds ss evolution stock to save weight also. mine has a hornet trigger and mag release. Though I have never weighed it it is super light and lots of fun to shoot out to 100yards,

There are basic 10/22's on the Ruger website with claimed weights of 4.4lbs. How much lighter do you want?

Stock and barrel where you can shave weight. Knox Axiom light but ugly. I built a light weight 10/22 and found I needed a muzzle break to watch bullet impact with a scope, and watching bullet impact is a lot of the fun shooting .22

Yes, I have the 10/22 Compact that weighs 4.4 pounds. It is very light and comes standard with really nice Fiber Optic sights.
