did Ruger make a 10/22 in .22 REM. Mag.
have a friend who said they were looking for one.
didn't see one mentioned on the Website but that doesn't mean they never made one
anyone seen one? have one?
and yep I know with ammo the way it is WHY? not sure they just want one I guess
Ruger no longer makes the 10/22 in .22 mag. There were problems with it. They do make the American Rimfire in .22 mag though. You can find 10/22 in .22 mag sometimes at gun shows or on used/consignment racks at a LGS.
The 10/22M experienced reliability issues and thus was discontinued after being produced for just a short time -> '98-'06. It's since become a somewhat sought after model commanding prices in the $800-1000 range when located. Had the same basic design yet used a steel receiver rather than aluminum alloy. Also had the Ruger style integral ring mounts integral to the receiver.
While there were some mocked up for testing, a 10/17M was planned but never reached production.
+1 I've been keeping my eye out for one for years. I just missed one at a local pawn shop by an hour. Your prices are correct, IMHO.
I pretty much gave up. I have a Ruger American, Marlin bolt, Single Six Convertible, so I'll leave it at that.
Have seen 'em and passed as I have no need for one at the usual prices and no niche needs to be filled. If the 22r can't do it, I'd simply opt for centerfire although I do like the rimfire model American.
Yep. I had two over the years. One was reliable and one was accurate. I have long hoped that Ruger would get it all sorted out and resume production as I really liked the idea.
I wonder what the issue was with the Ruger 10/22 .22WMR? I have thought about one of the MAGNUM RESEARCH 10/22 style .22 Magnum rifles. The whole outfit is just like a 10/22 and even uses the RUGER .22 Magum Rotary Magazine. I did notice that you must shoot 40 or 50 grain mag ammo in the MR rifle - if you use less you will void the warranty. What did Magnum Research do that Ruger could not to make the .22WMR work in a rifle?
For now I will stick with my Savage Bolt Action .22Mag rifle. It has superior accuracy and I really like the fact the bolt action loading makes for a controlled load/aim/shoot action and not just clicking the trigger as fast as you can....
Here it is with my Ruger Single Six Hunter .22Magnum revolver . . both extremely accurate shooters!!!
