I dig the case two. i was being a little sarcastic. It is a good ploy as sales have slumped a bit. Wrap it in something almost as valuable as the gun. If I get one it would be for the case also.
There's the Classic V and the Classic VI. The later is a blued takedown variation of the V with a shorter bbl. Two diff models so no, not a custom unit.
I don't know when the Classic VI is coming out. I contacted Lipsey's who could not say when it would be released, but they said to contact my LGS to let them know I wanted one. I contacted my LGS and they said they won't be able to get one because they are all already allocated.
I'd imagine they should come out soon, after all they are stamped 50th anniversary, and the year is almost over.
Me too!!! I bought a stainless TD with the black composite stock soon after they were first released. Don't know why I bought it ... it's no more accurate and doesn't function any different than a normal 10/22 Carbine. Guess it was just the novelty of being a takedown. Wish my Grandson was a few years older ... it would make a nice Christmas present.
I own quite a few Boyt rifle and handgun cases ... about the best you can find. I wonder if the case included with the Classic VI takedown is really a Boyt ... or is it a Chinese knockoff like the black case that comes with a standard TD.
The takedown is pretty cool, and really shines when it can be fit into a small backpack and can be transported discretely to a shooting range or packed in to BLM where you can lawfully shoot. But seriously it is kind of a gimmick, but I like them anyway.
You can clean from the chamber to bore which is cool.
