Remington 700 ADL

I have a opportunity to buy a Remington 700 ADL in .270 with a Leupold scope. This is the Wally-World special gun and scope. It has been priced to me at a very fair price. But, I am a Ruger man, and have only owned a couple Remingtons. (Not to mention I have never been a fan of anything under .30 caliber for deer.) My question is what is the difference between the ADL and the BDL Model 700s? I went to the Remington site and from what I gather Remington no longer makes the ADL. Are the Wally-World Remington guns worth buying?

The 700 ADL has [u]no floor plate</u> and is a "blind" magazine requiring ammo to be runned thru the action to empty the magazine.

The 700 BDL does have a floor plate for unloading the magazine thru the bottom of the stock similar to the ruger 77. Think at one time they also offered a 700 bdl detachable mag version as well.

As far as i know, that is the only difference in the actions. Everything else is cosmetic.

The ADL is a good gun and action. Once upon a time, they were offered in polish blue and walnut but in later times they were reduced to a sandblast blue and cheap synethetic stocks.

I think walmart has been pushing a laminated stock version?????

Tracer is an unknown quantity at this point
I have gotten rid of most of those Remington rifles I used to own years ago! If I were you, I would hold out for the Ruger, it is a better rifle in my humble opinion sir.

I've had a 700 ADL since around 1997 in 270. I've killed a ton of deer with that Rifle. My biggest deer to date was taken with that same rifle. It's not a fancy rifle but it performs well. I usually hunt with my Ruger M-77 in 7mm Mag. Now that we've moved to where the deer don't seem to be real big my ADL will come out of retirement.

We bought a Wally World Special ADL in 270 for the wife. It has a heavier barrel then mine. We bought it about two years ago.
