I took my Alliant BE-86 4.0 light loads to the range today along with my Ruger Sr1911, 9mm. I shot 100 bullets (20 magazines) and I did not have any problems with the slide not staying back on the last shot. All worked well. The grouping at 20 & 10 feet were outstanding .The other day I took my Ruger EC9s out and ran 20 magazines threw it with the lighter loads and got the same results as with my SR1911. I am now going to make all my ammo with the lighter load.

There tons of recipes for 9mm. My Glock 26 would not cycle on one of my recipes but the Sig Sauer of my brother-in-laws' cycled it perfectly. I will not take a load given by a friend. It has to be in one of the many manuals I own as these are tested and known to work.

Alliant does not list minimum loads just maximum loads. So one has to figure that anything under the maximum that still cycles the slide should be safe.
