Single Shot w/ Red Dot

Was doing some plinking with a Glenfield .22lr and CCI Quiet ammo. I was trying to zero an old red dot sight at 25yds. The sight has sat in a box for ten years. I had forgotten the windage turret is marked backwards. The picture shows a three shot group before a final adjustment for the last two. I figure I am good for "minute of armadillo" to 30yds.

Some older red dots had the adjustments marked to show which way the DOT moves, which of course is opposite of the way the POI moves. I had one of them years ago and it nearly drove me nuts when I first tried to zero it.

Last week, during my club's public deer rifle sight-in, there was a guy with an AR with a cheap Chinese red-dot sight. He was having a lot of trouble getting his varmint rifle zeroed. Turns out that elevation is marked correctly, but windage was backwards.

Thanks for explaining my problem. Only the Chinese would think of that!

I thought they'd just make a copy of someone else's product that was made there, maybe someone accidently flipped part of the schematic.
