The first pull of the season, (or yank)

My hunting bud and I made it out this morning, a nice 70 degree start. We went to August A. Busch, (yep the beer maker) Memorial Conservation Area. It’s 6900 acres of hunting and fishing, (30 plus lakes) 20 miles from my house. They recently completed a state of the art rifle/pistol/skeet/trap and archery range.

My first group of four at 20yds was acceptable considering I haven’t launched an arrow since December. They got better once I remembered to level my site bubble and put my thumb joint, (bent) behind my ear.

We both made it to 60 arrow before we were both getting fatigued and the groups were really starting to open up.......I definitely need to do more rear delt work along with one arm rows.

Here’s some shots of the range, notice the elevated platform, (about 15’) and the open area to the right side, they remember the folks in wheelchairs. Good job MDC!!!!

That looks like an amazing facility. I look forward to seeing the other ranges.

Wow, wish we had something that nice (outdoor) here. The newer indoor ranges here are nice. We definitely lack some nice outdoor ranges close by.

Looks like a nice place. And just 20 miles away, sweet!

Wow! If it was free here you would never be able to use it. Our free firing range has 3 tables and you can forget it on a weekend and most any day is tough. Pay range is 10/2hrs and indoors are like 20

There were only five of us on the archery range this morning, there was some light firing on the gun ranges, (it didn’t sound like a war zone). Now on the weekends it a “goat-ropin” and we stay away.........it’s nice not having a job anymore.
