Colt King Cobra Target

I have seen lots of ads for the 2" and 3" fixed sight versions of the new King Cobra. The 4.25" Target version with adjustable sights and a stippled wood grip got past me. I just recently saw it and think it is a really good looking revolver. I mean it's stainless, has a full lugged barrel, and says Colt on the side. What's not to like?

The ones Iíve handled seem really nicely made. Not like my early 1990s version which was sloppy fitting junk.

The website specs list the weight as 36 ounces, so the same as a Smith and Wesson K frame model 66. In my opinion thatís what a 4Ē .357 should weigh. As much as I respect the GP-100, a lighter carrying revolver is nice.

If I was in the market for a .357, the Colt would be giving S&W some serious competition. Better looking gun to me, and no ďHilary holeĒ lock on the side of the frame.

I like Colt's new factory stocks design. I might put those on my Python!

I agree that it is a nice looking gun. Too bad Colt did not try to go the "Diamondback" route with the ventilated rib, though.

A Colt .357 was my "Go to" gun for many years. It still feels natural. Never a problem with my S&W or Ruger DA revolvers either. Dan Wessons were the only ones that didn't feel effortless and required familiarization.

So true! Those were beautiful revolvers. My friend had a nickled 4" Diamondback in .22WMR. Absolutely gorgeous gun.
