Thumbs down Way over priced Revolver

Today while looking on Utah Gun Exchange there is a listing on a Rossi model 971 revolver in .357 magnum it has a 2-1/2 inch barrel. The seller was touting how well built his gun was comparing it to Smith & Wesson's custom shop 686 with a 2-1/2 inch barrel. I read this total nonsense he's asking $600.00 it makes me wonder what kind of dope is he on!

I don't see where the "dishonesty" comes into play. It's a free country. Sellers can ask whatever they want for their goods. No one is required or forced to pay anyone's asking price.

Some sellers are either clueless or are just waiting for a moron to buy their overpriced gun.

On Armslist there is a guy with buyer's remorse trying to sell his LC380 w/lasers, extra mag and some other goodies...for $600! In his post he even writes...
"$600 FIRM do not offer me less I have far more into it and it's literally like new still

Please don't contact me unless your ready to buy it and save lower offers Its getting rather old thanks"

This guy is either a moron or waiting for one.

I recently sold my LC9 w/Crimson Trace and an extra mag for $400 and I was lucky to get that.

ARMSLIST - For Sale: Ruger LC380 with 2 mags ,Crimson Trace ,Tactical Light and laser

Thumbs down

No I didn't buy this gun plus I told the seller his reasoning was BS trying to compare his gun to a Smith & Wesson the quality in a Rossi is no where close to a Smith & Wesson or Ruger. He can do what he wants. I did tell him asking such a inflated price of $600.00 no way realistic.

I believe the Taurus site states that S&W and Taurus were owned by the same holding company years ago. In an effort to consolidate costs, technology was shared between the two manufacturers.

According to Taurus, more technology went towards Smith than came out of Smith.

I believe both make quality revolvers and Taurus has connections with Rossi too.

Ultimately, a product is only worth what a buyer is willing to pay.

MSRP at the Smith website hurts my feelings.

If you own one of the new S&W mod. 69 5 shot .44 magnums, you will need to trade for a Taurus .44 Tracker. Taurus had this mid frame .44 on the market for years before S&W. You might also consider trading your S&W Governor for a Taurus Judge.
