I can't seem to find anywhere an optic for my Ruger Mark IV that has fine crosshairs. I don't like the standard red dot/bullseye/circle dot reticles that normally come with optics. I would even settle for mil-dot, but I'm guessing those are exclusive to scopes. Anyone have any suggestions? I've even tried looking at small-sized scopes, but couldn't find one small enough for a Mark IV mount that has fine crosshairs.
random_name, There's always a reason …. pistol scopes are held at arm's reach, often with poor lighting conditions that make fine crosshairs almost impossible to see …. dots are even worse. If you plan to hunt with your MK IV, trees, brush, and grass, will make it very difficult to pick up fine crosshairs or a dot. My recommendation is a "duplex" type reticule where the outside lines are thicker and get thinner in the middle.
The Burris 2-7pistol scopes have fairly fine plex or ballistic plex reticles. However, I have older Burris fixed power (3x and 5x) scopes that I am not using, with finer crosshairs than those.
