I have been shooting steel matches with 22lr and 9mm PCC. What is the best red dot for daytime use having problems seeing the dot with all the sunlight.
Thanks

A lot has to do with quality and adjustability of the light intensity of the dot.

I like the burris fast fires too, on my 22 mark III i have a primary arms micro dot, it works really well and is not that tough on the wallet. Have one on an Ar15 with an amercian defense absolute quick detachable mount too, no issues.

Cheaper dots are cheaper for a reason.
With my Fastfires, the dot is almost too bright in sunlight unless I turn it down to the lowest setting.

I bought this cheap Tasco for $30 to try on my Nylon 66. I ended up putting it on my MK IV .22/45 as I found it easier to acquire the dot on a handgun with the tube style rather than the TV screen of the Fastfire.
The cheapo dot has 12 brightness settings, but I have to turn it up to 10-12 to see the dot well in bright sunlight.

That tells me the $220 dot sight operates more efficiently than the $30 one, not only a brighter dot but the battery will last longer.
Besides being more rugged, more compact and more dependable.

If price is a concern , Tasco Red Dot 1X30 w/ 5 moa dot runs $40 to $60 .
I have used mine on MKII pistol and 10/22 carbine .
True it is a tube type sight but I have found it easier to use than TV screen mini dots.
Eleven brightness settings , even in full sun the dot is clearly visible.
I think the tube type sights are easier to see the dot with in sunlight .
Tasco makes a few different models .
