Looking to put a new scope on my #1 RSI in .270 Win. My hunting will occur in dense woods and heavy underbrush. I'm currently thinking about a leupold vx-3i 1.5-5x20 or a Vortex Diamondback 1.75-5x32. There are a couple others in this configuration but really interested in the opinions here.
My first though is the .270 may have issues with "dense undergrowth". As to scope I had a 1.5-4X on my rifled BBL 12 ga and always felt it was lacking. I would rule out the 20 MM lens as I suspect it would be poor in low light. Leupold has a 2-7X 33 MM that looks interesting. No sure of the quality as it's short money and with optics that is not a good sign.
I have no experience with the Vortex, but I have a VX-3i 1.5-5 on my .350 remington mag carbine and love it.
