Been a lurker here for a couple of months. In the past I have had a Ruger 22/45 bull and now a Mark III std bull.
I'm more used to smith's for 357 and 38 but just recently picked up a stainless .357 3" Speed Six which I am trying to find more info about. It's a nice tight piece as Ruger usually are, but I'm still on the fence on what I am going to do with this one. It's realy much to big and heavy for daily carry as I have a S&W 36 for that. For a range piece, I think 4"+ bbl would be better.
Anyway, I welcome any comments and look forward into finding more about the speed six. Been searching around and there doesn't seem to be too much data about these guns except for the first hand reports of owners. I did find from the serial number search of the 157 prefix that it dates to about 1981-82.
Welcome pj150. Glad you decided to join up. The Speed Six is a good solid weapon and the 3" is a great piece to carry in the field with 38+P or 357mags. I prefer to change the grips if used often but it's a good carry piece out the box for most people. Post pics if you can over in the Gallery. Hope to hear from you often.
