The 8" was a bit too loud for my taste.
Spent most of my artillery time in either 8" or 155, that is when I wasn't living the shameful life of a Larry Lunchbucket staff type. The army loaned me a 155 bn for a while (pigs and M198), but that limited my lanyard time. Been there with big bangs and big recoil, rimfires do just fine now. Of course if you need a No. 1 cannoneer an older addiction would kick in.
