I am breaking down my lc9 for the first time. I have removed the pin but I cannot remove the slide. any suggestions ?

Go to YouTube there are a few videos that give step by step instructions

tried that every video as soon as you pull the pin the slide moves forward and can be removed. My slide will not move forward.

Dry fired first? (make sure it's unloaded)
