Well it's off to the wally world store to get some more bubble-wrap, my roll mysteriously came up missing. I wish my Dear Wife would stay out of my office/gun room/cave, she comes in here to use things and it's either gone for good or you have to hunt it down. I knew I should have never let her talk me out of two shelves in the gun safe to keep her stuff. I had to train her, if you close the door lock the safe, if you leave the house lock the safe.

Anyway the grips are off the 4 guns ready to be packed and soon to be on the way.

JPGLSG I do not do repairs to another maker's knife. If there is no pins showing, it may have "hidden" pins that can not be seen or it only has epoxy holding the handle scales on. Epoxy only is a short cut that is not that great for longevity on the handle scales staying on. Most, not all, epoxies can have the seal broken by heating in a 220 degree oven for about 20 minutes. That low of a temperature will not effect the heat treating or temper of the blade.

Chad the Grip-maker reached out to me today. Grip frame package has arrived. We are talking about the style and shape, what he's thinking, what I'm in visioning. Finish and what's going to look best.

He threw my name in his hat to proceed, I'll get them back when he gets them done.

Chad the grip maker reached out to me the other day to inform me he has all 4 sets going. He also stated the color and figure are going to look outstanding. Well okay I'm on his side and waving the flag, outstanding has always been good in my book.

I have the 8 birdhead blanks processed to his advice, sitting in my cave getting happy waiting to take the trip. The best way I could describe the grain in these, they look like puffy red rolling clouds.

Chad reached out to me today and said he is getting the 4 plow-handle frames and new grips out in the mail to me Wednesday. The anticipation is building with his description of how these turned out and the enjoyment he had working with a wood he had not worked with in his past.

We've also been conversing about the 4 sets of mallee blanks for the birdhead guns that he has agreed to do.

Looking forward to showing off his creations.

Just ripped through the packaging to take a look see, I'd be surprised if Chad couldn't see me smiling all the way from MO. The pictures really don't do these justice, they are over the top in my book. I'll get some more photos when I get the guns back together.

Well I had to drop what I was doing this afternoon and get these guns back together. The workmanship, fit to the frames, and finish is just top drawer from Chad, I couldn't be more pleased. Can't wait to get him started o the 4 birdheads.
