There's a little Trap club down the road where the old man stuck a .410 on my shoulder at the age of 6 and barked at me to pull the trigger.

Don't really remember what age, but I was very young. A single shot .22 with my cousin at my uncle's place/spread.

Born & Raised in the Peoples Republic of Illinois I had to leave the Republic

I was raised in state where you needed to have a license to get license to get a license to hunt shoot buy ammo etc. I was sent to summer camp during the summers of 1979-1983 in northern Wisconsin. There were two of the activities that involved shooting. Rifles (22 Single shot bolts)50 & 100 yard range, and the trap field (20 Gauge single shot) manual pulled targets. My greatest memories were developed from these events. If I was not shooting on the trap range I wanted to be in the bunker pulling targets, on the rifle range the Range officer would let the most proficient shooter of the day get to shoot ten rounds out of his Browning 22 medalist, that was a big deal. My Anti gun parents never understood how I was always running out of money at camp, but they did charge by the shot and never accounted for the actual use. If you made a belt, crafted some pottery, or shot a couple hundreds rounds on the trap field it all showed as funds spent. This was a great time in my life, that has lead to a life as an gun dealer, Military contractor, ITAR registered arms broker, and Ex CEO of several Major branded gun companies & Blue Book contributor. I hope our youth can be exposed to the incredible thrill that ballistics offer.

Don't remember how old.....probably single digits. It was a Remington 510 Targetmaster, Dad's gun obviously. I still have it in the safe, still shoots great. We'd be shooting 'coons in the corn and woodchucks in the beans and tomatoes!!!

Earlier this year at 34 (I know I know) Grew up in California, family was not into them. Exes I dated, were not into them AT ALL. People I hung-out with did not have any etc etc. Moved to AZ and decided I kinda liked them a bit when I was kid and always wanted one. So why not.

Shot some Ruger 22 and picked up a 9mm Smith and Wesson. Wanted a cheaper range gun.

The first gun I fired was a swiss K31 Carbine in 7.5x55mm. The first self-loader was a Mauser 1914 in .32 acp. Don't know the brand of the revolver but it was chambered in .22 lr.
However, the first gun I ever had in my hand (but didn't shoot) was a 1911 A1. I was out with a fellow hunter and he loaded some snapcaps into it and I was allowed to handle it for a while.

I was still 4 or 5 at the time, killed a lot of ducks, and even had a dog laugh at me.

I was about 12 or 13 ,one of my older brother took up hunting. My dad took us out and my older brother and dad were shooting clay pigeons with a hand held launcher,12 guage. I was allowed 1 shot. Fast forward 45 years and I bought a GP100 for home defense, took a NRA safety course ,had so much shooting with my wife that day we got a range membership, that was 3 years ago. Sadly my wife hasn't gone to the range with me in quite some time but I try and go once a week.

12g shotgun at local turkey shoot, around 13 or 14 years old. 1 shot was enough for me.

I was ten years old, had received my first gun for my birthday. It was a Glenfield model 25 bolt action 22 rimfire rifle. The rifle is still in the family, I gave it to a nephew, who is a also a fellow enthusiast.

I was 10 or so, and Dad bought me a H&R .410 single shot shotgun.

I was about 6 with my Grandpa's Remington Targetmaster single shot .22. I have that rifle and it will still crack walnuts.

15th birthday, my mum (how good is that?) took me down to a firing range. Shot a good 100 rounds through a BRNO and was pretty chuffed with the results by the end of it.
