Now I'm snooping something of European heritage with a butterknife bolt handle.

Very nice. I wouldn't call that humble in any way. That's a solid collection already. Congrats!

I snapped up the first edition Ruger 77RSI-308...when they were first offered. Still have it today. At the time, it was rumored that other Ruger models were going to be offered in the mannlicher stock. Alas, it took some time..and I never found one when they were made. When the 10/22 popped up...I snagged one of the first ones at of all places Walmart...SS in a laminated stock...still have that one....then a walnut mannlicher Blued 10/22...which at one trip to the range I was offered twice what I paid for it. When Lipseys had their run of Ruger Mannlichers….I could not find one at a price that I was willing to pay....then I found CZs....have the CZ452FS....which shoots like a target rifle....and the CZ527FS in 223/5.56....which is quite possibly the most accurate rifle I have ever shot...the single set trigger....has spoiled me.
