Bond Arms (not a Ruger) **Update** Range Report

but, made in Texas (like me).

I picked up this little beauty today. I am very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. It is a real looker, and I think I know what to expect at the range. I will hopefully run a few rounds through it this weekend.

Overall, (so far) I am VERY pleased!

I like it! They seem like really nice shooters. What caliber(s) did you get?

I love how those Ranger models look with the black laminate grips and silver Ranger star! Bond derringers are built like a tank, easily the best made ever.

Here's mine, the Bond Girl Mini. She's a .357 magnum and quite a handful, I have named her the "Noisy Cricket" from MIB fame. I've offered several big guys the opportunity to shoot it and not a one would do it, saying I was crazy shooting a tiny .357 magnum lol. It really isn't that bad lol. I would like to get some additional barrels but I can't decide.

Nice, keep the pics coming! I am hoping to get my wife to shoot it for home defense. Gotta see how she handles the .410 buckshot rounds. Gonna break her in (the wife) on 2.5 inch .410 # 7 shot, and build up from there.

I'd like to get a .45/.410 barrel as a snake shooter but I've heard that the .45Colt/.410 combo is especially brutal. Any real life experience with that caliber Bond combo?

Depends on the ammo.
I have no issues w Hornady 410 self defence loads or their 45 Colt rounds. 4 shot high brass Winchester Super X will leave a lasting impression on your hand, but that is the worst I think.

Nice derringer. IfI did not have 2 derringers from american arms I would buy one from bond arms. I have an american arms derringer in 45/70. Why just because. Several dozen peole have asked to shoot it when I go to the range. Ususally only one time do they shoot it. Recoil makes a 4 inch smith mountian gun in 44 mag seem like a plinker. I used ot be able to shoot 20 rounds at a time now only 10at most.

Thanks for the link Lee. That is on par with the research I have done. My Ranger II has longer barrels (4.5 inch), so I am hoping it helps to tame some recoil. Interesting note, I saw a video review that showed how right handed shooters could shoot the Bond Arms with their left trigger finger in a double handed grip. The video made sense, and it made more sense when I got the gun in my hand. You can also cock the hammer with your off hand. I intend to learn to shoot it one handed with my right trigger finger, and double handed with my left trigger finger (just to be versatile). I have had this gun for less than 12 hours, and I am really itching for the weekend to get here so I can get to the range!!!

I don't usually go to the range. I go to my hunting lease, but it is 2 hours away, and I ain't waiting till I can get out there to break this thing in!! This little gun is going to be an awesome armadillo slayer!!!

WTSANDSTORM will become famous soon enough
The Forum Folks are probably tired of my loving comments on this great series of firearms. Couldn't say it if it was not true!

I have a Snake Slayer, 3 1/2" barrel, .45/.410 calibers, for right now. I love shooting it. It is has plenty of thump, but, unless you are cursed with arthritic hands, a normal shot shell or .45 Cowboy load are just fine. I carry mine a lot, and open-carry when walking my pup up in NM high-country. Now, if I was in some kind of fire-fight situation, I'd want backup plan if I ever needed the second round.

I hope to get a .38/.357 barrel very soon. It is next on the list. I reload .38s that will likely be the round-of-choice. My little bride likes shooting this little piece a lot. Glad to hear from other fans on this forum.
