You nailed it. The plunger seems to have been peened a bit as it won't pass through the hole in the end cap. (Likely not the correct name for it). I am going to polish the end of the plunger to get it to go through the hole. As soon as I ooked at the piece I remember how it used to look like.

    Thanks again.

    Robert,
Pull the hammer to half cock, push the base pin release and pull the base pin out. Look at the back end of the base pin. It has a small spring loaded plunger that pushes against the transfer bar to keep it from stubbing on the firing pin.

    A. Base pin was not fully inserted.
    B. Spring loaded plunger in the base pin has bound up (most likely).
Use some powder solvent and flush the plunger while pushing it in and out. When it moves freely under spring tension, the gun should work OK.

    Robert,
Unless you pay big bucks, you won't find a .3585" throat reamer .... the Manson and Klymer reamers are .358", which wouldn't help much except to round an oval throat. .358" throat reamers have proven to work quite well because bore diameters are very well regulated at .357". The 11 deg forcing cone reamer will help a lot if you are shooting wad cutters or semi-wad cutters but doesn't do much for round nose bullets. Make sure your lead bullet hardness is matched to chamber pressure and you will likely get amazing accuracy. Let me know how it works out.
