This is what happens when you use the wrong burning rate powder for selected bullet weight. But I'm convinced someone from NH is running around with this engraved receiver. They refused to send it back even after welding it up as a reminder to pay attention.

I love the number one. I think the wood on yours is drop dead gorgeous. I have #1s in 30-06 375 h and h and a couple othe calibers. i used to have a 458 lott one that got to be too much of a good thing recoil wise. If elephants escape from the zoo I can shoot them closeup with the 375 I do not need a 458 lott one.

Very nice! That first rifle in 7mm Dakota has superb wood and very fine fit and finish indeed! This really makes the Number 1 that much more special.
