Maybe I'm thinking this way 'cause it's early and I'm pre-coffee but I cannot recall the #1V ever having the rib like the other models do. Always been using this type of block that I recall. This is pre-coffee remember.

it's been 31 years since i believe i pulled the blocks off a 220 swift 1v and i think i replaced them with redfield bases because i didn't have the rings to fit these. all the coffe in the world can't help your memory after that long.

The very first 1V's were only D&T for the target blocks for the long target scopes still in vogue at that time. It's always hard to pin down when Ruger made changes in the No. One, but it seems they started doing three sets of holes around 1975 or so, and still do to this day as far as I know. This allows you to use modern (shorter) scopes, or the longer target scopes, if you want to, and if you can find a set of the target scope bases, which are quite scarce. You wouldn't have any trouble selling these on ebay, the RugerForum or at the Ruger1 group on Yahoo if they are truly OEM 1V target bases.

The target blocks on the 1-V and the Ruger No. 3 are the same as the barrel contours are identical.

I see Ruger sells the #1 target blocks on line for $42.18. Will they fit the mount holes on my #3 Hornet? Thanks
