recent #1 in .243....

Supposedly a 2010 production, some engraving [not sure who], and a step up checkering.
It was sitting in the back room of a LGS, and I picked it up, and it wouldn't come out of my hands.
A handful of $$ DID come out of my hands though.... : )

Not shot it yet. Wondered about reboring to .358 Win if it doesn't produce good accuracy....?

Dang I want a No. 1 in a Mannlicher stock so bad I can taste it, in either .270, 30-06, or .223. Was at a gun show a couple of months ago and found a pristine ,270 on the table for $650.00 with beautiful wood. Like a dummy I decided to take a walk around the end of the table, which took all of about 2 minutes, came back, and a gentleman was already purchasing the rifle. If you snooze you lose.

I guess a Ruger No. International in 30-06 next to a Ruger SR-762. Sort of the old and the new I guess.

Finally got to fire my new number 1 today. Its a 9.3x62 and its staying open sights. Ill be using it for samber hunting in thick scrub. Shoots pretty well straight out of the box. Just need to tap the rear sight over a bit to center it up. pic is 3 shots at 50 meters. Loving it.

Both are really nice rifles. I have been looking to find a .223 B about like your
.257 Roberts for a while now.

It makes you want to cry, don't it?
Do you have any idea what could remove the bluing like we see, around the safety, where those really sharp divisions are between the blued and bared areas?

Danny

PS It is sad, but I guess that to some, a rifle is a tool, even a No. 1 <shriek>. Seeing those pictures makes me feel like Bluto did when they "hurt" the beer upon removal from Delta House in "Animal House".
