2017 # 1's

Has anyone heard if/when the #1 will be produced in 2017 or what calibers there will be? I know they said they have it in the catalog but no more mention. Since we're a decent way into the new year I figured to have a little input about it by now. Regards, 021

Why don't you just call them. 888 220 1173
Ask for a catalogue while you are at it.

I did. They are less than forthcoming. Generally we hear from folks here and around the web well before Ruger/Lipseys/etc. tell us, which is why I asked.

Been a long discussed thing. Lispeys started it by announcing the 31 was to be dropped from all production. Ruger gave a different answer when asked. I later asked some at both places and got "they're gone". Some have come and said they're not gone and will be made but not as a Lispey's exclusive.

Given all the conflicting information and rumors, I feel very grateful for having spent the money and grabbing one of the new Lipsey 44 mags while I could. I'm in love with the rifle and, now, of course, I want another No 1. I, for one (1), will do what I can to push Ruger into keeping the No 1 alive.

I guess we all need to call and write Ruger regularly and tell them to keep the No1 in production!

My understanding is that they are going to offer a different caliber for each model changing that caliber each year and not repeating any starting in 2016.

I'm jealous. I want a No. 1 in .44 also. I *only* have three at the moment, and the .223 is starting to feel like it's cramping the style of the .280 and the 6mm I may need to get another just so the .223 will have someone to talk to in the safe.

I'm REALLY tempted to get a tropical to satisfy my masochistic needs. Who knows? a .375 H&H might be just the ticket for taking care of those pesky squirrels.

Ppl can write and call but it's only when they speak with their wallets that matters in keeping a product in production.

For sure. The market for single shot anything has to be minuscule in comparison to other types of guns in the current market. It's a shame for those of us who love traditional guns, but that's the reality.

I went back and forth with Ruger with no luck. I tried to post a link but I don't have enough posts to let me post a link.

Go to Classic Sports Arms and they have a page with all the Rugers of recent years. I don't think they listed 2017.

Go to Classic Sporting Arms and click on Ruger #1's for sale at the top of the page and you will see a list of the last several years.

My wallet won't let me pay as much as they want for one....And I really like single shot rifles.
