.280 Rem Ruger No. 1A at the range

Finally. FINALLY! I had an opportunity to take this sweet gun to the range. I had been fondling this thing for almost a month without putting a single shot through it, and it was driving me nuts!

I didn't know what to expect from the rifle, so I started out with a five round series at just 50 yards. I was able to put all 5 rounds into a 5 inch circle, so I was pretty happy with it. With a bit of confidence, I stretched out to 100 yards. The result can be seen in the second image. I am no sharpshooter, but I am very happy with this first outting!

Oh, one thing. I was shooting some 140 grain Fusion rounds. I'd shot some of them in my 30-06 and found them to be pretty reliable from one round to the next.

I really didn't have as much time as I would have liked, and there was a pretty significant right to left wind, so I am "Scheduling" a range day in my calendar, and I pity the fool who gets in my way!
